Age: |

Current Location: |
Brondir Weyr |
|
Rank: |
Candidate |
|
Physical Description: |
Close cropped brown hair and rich blue
eyes give Eshinra a very cheeky and impish appearance, which is highly
deceptive. She has no real distinguishing features, has a wirey build
and is relatively flat chested. Ordinarily, she wears drab coloured
clothes and never, ever wears a dress because she hates imbracing her
feminine side. She's got a wirey build, clear muscles are clear whenever
she wears shirts without sleeves and she can often beat many boys; you
cross Eshinra lightly because she can be so determined and has the
strength to back it up. |
|
Personality: |
Eshinra is firmly one of the lads,
having always felt most comfortable in the company of men. She is quick
witted, level headed and temperate, her personality soon dispelling the
myth of her appearance. As already mentioned, she is as strong as she
looked and doggedly determined; she can also be very open and caring but
people seldom see this side of Eshinra. The only way to get any real
compassion from Eshinra is to be some kind of beast, as it is only
around animals that she shows her truest nature. Her sisters often
teased her that she cared more for animals then them but it had often
been abundantly clear that this is not so; Eshinra would walk across
Pern and back for her siblings.
However, it is unwise to take Eshinra
lightly as she is not one to be crossed, she packs a mean punch; Eshinra
is certain enough of her own space but sometimes doubts her own worth.
She may initially seem slightly cold but give her time and she will show
you her true colours, yet you have to be very special to merit a great
deal of her attention. Eshinra is more likely to talk to Riod then
anyone else; she will speak to people who seem not to fit because she
really appreciates how hard it is to be out of place. |
|
History: |
Eshinra plays her cards close to her
chest when it comes to her past; she was born a beast herder and was
content enough to remain one until the day she died but was searched at
the age of 15. She was raised in a loving family home, her parents were strict but loving; nurturing their children and teaching them how to be the best herders they could. Eshinra has three brothers and a sister, all of whom are younger then herself; she is very protective of them all and spent so much of her time making sure that they did not stray far from home. There are only three years between her and her youngest sister Cleyrarn, but the young girl looks up to her big sister with the reverence of an expert in all fields. Eshinra has never been in a meaningful relationship and doesn't mind in the least, romance, she says, dulls the senses. As much as she intends to experience life as much as she can, she realises that she has all of it in which to experience love and lust fully and does not intend to fall into the trap so many slip down. However, Eshinra's relationship with her loyal mutt canine is central to her life and she cares for nothing more then she does for Riod. When Eshrina's father canine whelped a litter of 10 pups the family was delighted; ten good pups would be good earners for the small farming family. However, all was not well, the tenth pup was a runt and her father was prepared to drown it. Dutifully, Eshinra was prepared to concur with his suggestion until the pup looked at her, his rich brown eyes seeming to say 'I'm small but I'm perfect for you.' Since then the two have been inseperable, Eshinra hates the very idea of leaving the dog alone and so moved him to the weyr with her. Since raising Riod from a pup, Eshinra has also trained him as a skilled herding beast; her father was determined that every creature on their holding would be able to solve a task and harshly told his daughter that a canine who could not herd held no real purpose. Eshinra saw to Riod's training on her own, teaching the canine what to do, and how to respond to the complex whistles that are used to control Canines. Yet, Riod seems too small to deal with animals, and Eshinra knows that her canine is a weak beast unlikely to make it into double figures. As with any farm girl, Eshinra is
accustomed to dealing with life and death, from a small age she's seen
animals that she's cared for die and watched creatures slowly succumb to
death through sickness. On more then one occasion she has seen the
effects of thread on a herd beast and been sickened by the unheralded
destruction. She considers herself lucky to have
never experienced a thread fall too closely, she has been part of clean
up crews and the like but Eshinra has never been caught out of her home
whilst Thread has fallen. Eshinra has had a very ordinary life, nothing
too extrodinary has happened to her yet but she is still 15 and holds
some hopes for her own future as a member of a Weyr; she appreciates
keenly how good her life had been. |

Canine |
| Name: | Riod |
| Physical Description: |
Riod is a scruffy mongrel of about
medium height. However, he seems to be slightly dwarfed by his siblings
and his lack of height and bulk becomes more apparent. Uncoordinated patches of white, brown and black mar his hide giving him a cute and loveable appearance. His tongue seems a bit overlong and frequently hangs out of the edges of his mouth which is set in a fine shaped snout. |
| Personality: |
Riod is a bouncy canine but none the
less well behaved due to his training. He is a very friendly and
loveable mutt who it's hard to hate. Eshinra has often said that Riod would more likely lick someone to death then hurt them. He likes to lay about in the sun but as a working cannine will respond to Eshinra's whistle in a heartbeat. He is utterly devoted to his master
and would disreguard his good nature if she were threatened, no harm
will come to her whilst he still draws breath. |
