Physical Description: |
Valira is a slender 5'12" but keeps her
shoulders down appearing shorter. She has short ash blonde hair, which is
tied back and just reaches the bottom of her neck. She has large dark
green eyes and has a pale complexion except where the sun has tanned her
hands and face. |

Personality: |
Valira is a quiet, introverted person.
When she was younger she was teased as she grew so much taller than her
friends, and this caused her to withdraw into herself somewhat. She has
very few friends, but is very protective of them and is always there for
them when they need her help. She dislikes being the centre of attention
in any way, preferring to be with one or two trusted friends rather than a
large crowd. She gets very angry at people who have upset her friends and
go out of her normally quiet lifestyle to give them a piece of her mind,
in a voice loud enough to be heard on the other side of the weyr. She
enjoys like at the handsome men and the beautiful women about the weyr,
but is too nervous to take any actions on her feelings. |

History: |
Valira was the oldest child of Valin and
Iramia in a small hold beholden to Brondir Weyr. She was the only daughter
and was doted upon by her parents, who loved her for her quiet ways when
her two brothers would be running away making enough noise to wake a
dragon. Her parents could not understand her lack of interest in the handsome young men they would introduce her to; not knowing that as soon as they had gone the "nice young man" would tease Valira about her quiet ways and her height. As this continued Valira became more and more withdrawn. Her parents finally noticed this and when a searchrider from Brondir Weyr arrived for looking for candidates for the new hatching they allowed their daughter to leave knowing that she was no longer happy at home. Valira is finding it hard to settle into weyr life which differs so greatly from her hold lifestyle, but she is quietly determined to make the weyr her new home, thanks to the help of the green dragonrider Relana who until recently has been showing around the weyr, unfortunately Relana's dragon Kilth was recently injured in the last threadfall and so Relana have been too preoccupied to spend much time with Valira; who has been trying to help keep her new friend from becoming to distressed. |
