J'layn and blue Krlyth
|
Gender: |
Male |
|
Age: |
19 |
|
Current Location: |
Brondir Weyr |
|
Rank: |
Wingrider |
|
Physical Description: |
J’layn has fair hair cut into shaggy curtains which are always mussed up and getting in his sea blue / grey eyes. He has a small amount of stubble as he rarely bothers shaving every day, but it gives his face more definition than his rather plain features would normally allow. He is reasonably well built and toned, from swimming at every opportunity and about 6’1” in height. |
|
Personality: |
J’layn has a quick mind and is engaging
in conversation with many views on every topic. He likes debating for the
thrill it gives and will often argue a point that he doesn’t believe just
for the fun of it. This often makes people annoyed with him, however he
soon wins them round as he is a hard worker (when not humming or
day-dreaming) and will do anything he is asked to if it will help the
Weyr. He prefers to out talk his rivals and is seen as a useful person to
have around in tense situations! Saying this he enjoys fighting Thread
whenever he can and will often try to fight when tired or injured. He says
it helps him recover and those who have watched him dragonback see a
totally different side of him. He has a fierce intensity when performing
any task but this is multiplied when he is fighting for those he cares
about. He loves music and
will spend hours gazing at new tapestries. His parents brought him up with
a love of beautiful things uncommon in most young men his age. |

History: |
Born into the world of two journeymen,
Jalayn had all the music and cloth he could cope with. From an early age
it was clear he had an appreciation for the work of his parents but was
never going to follow in either of their footsteps. He learnt his ballads
at his father’s knee but everyone in the hold knew he was an awful singer,
a fact which saddened his father greatly. When his mother tried to teach
him weaving he showed a very clumsy aptitude for it and so he was put to
work learning as much as he could in the hopes that one day he might be
able to apprentice. Despite his lack of singing voice and ability with instruments he had a harpers way with words. He could turn any argument to his advantage, even against his father. Surprisingly enough this made his father very proud! His parents took him to Igen Weyr whilst on a visit as there was a chance that Libale might be re-assigned there. Jalayn had little to do whilst his parents met people in the Weyr so he wandered about looking for something to do. He ran errands for the kitchen staff and helped wherever he was given a job. Later on as they were leaving his parents introduced him to some of the riders they had been speaking with. After talking with them a little while, one of the riders asked him if he would like to stay for the hatching as a candidate. Jalayn agreed emphatically and was later Impressed to a blue dragon called Krlyth. J’layn’s mother still sends him the new weavings she has made and his father is constantly trying to find a new debating partner. |

Dragon Information: |
Krlyth |
|
Colour: |
Blue |
|
Physical Description: |
About average size for a blue dragon,
Krlyth is an even light blue. Reasonably well proportioned there is about
as much remarkable about Krlyth as there is to J’layn (except of course
that he is a dragon). His eyes are a bit further forwards than normal but
this is offset by his slightly too long snout. |
|
Personality: |
Krlyth is sometimes very lazy but he
does share J’layns passion for swimming and enjoys it most when his rider
uses him as a diving board from flight. Krlyth is extremely good natured
and enjoys playing with J’layn, especially in water. The game of ‘dunking
his rider’ has never grown old with the pair. He is very inquisitive and often got them both into trouble as a dragonet by asking too many questions of the other dragons. Krlyth’s biggest passion (apart from J’layn) is feeding and it can sometimes be a battle of wills when he goes to hunt. Krlyth is always ready to protect the
Weyr and is even more ready to fight Thread than J’layn (if possible). |
