Alka and green Afrath

Physical Description:	Alka is not the most beautiful of the bunch but she's not to be scoffed at either. With cropped dirty Blonde hair (so it doesn't get in her way at thread fall) and a square face she looks pensive and serious but her looks couldn't be further from the truth of her personality. She has a skinny boyish figure and wear's her riding gear close to her skin, so you can tell she's got practically no curves. By some freak of genes she's very tall at nearly 6ft. Even though she doesn't look like much there's something in the way she carries herself that makes you want to talk to her. And with her laughing smile she usually gets along with those she meets even though she always seems to be considered just a lowly green rider.
Personality:	While she looks severe Alka is well and truly not. A very happy person she loves to joke and her dragon is just as bad. She always tries to get along with people and knows how to listen. She is usually always happy, but if upset or angered she's not afraid to let people feel the brunt force of her aggressive side (but only when they deserve it). Being a green rider lent her the confidence she lacked as a girl growing up in the weyr and even though she knows she's no beauty she struts as well as anyone else.
History:	Growing up as a weyrbrat in southern weyr made Alka sure she wanted to be a Dragonrider more then anything else in the world. She didn't really know her parents, a product of a green flight she wasn't truly wanted and it was only her mother not wanting to give up the child that prevented her going between sometime during the pregnancy. But Alka still grew up loved by the people in the lower caverns and although she was nervous after puberty because of her height it did nothing to prevent her joking around with her fellow weyrbrats. At 16 she was sent to the sands and impressed her Darling green Afrath. Since then she has fought in the wings at southern but when she heard the call for Dragons from Brondir she couldn't help but want to help this Weyr that she'd heard so many good things about.

Physical Description:	A nimble green Afrath has a broad wingspan and is quite a fast flyer during thread. Her whirling eyes give people a sense of her playfulness. Her hide is a rich burgeoning green that look's as though its the colour of fresh new growing buds, while on her underside the rich green tapers out to be a shade lighter.
Personality:	Afrath is sometimes a determined flirt although her rider does keep her inline a lot of the time, but the beat thing about her (so she thinks) is her "great" sense of humour. Her confidence exudes out of her and no one can doubt that she thinks she is Faranth's gift to all male dragons.
